Wonderful law

We live in a culture often opposed to the law, particularly God's law. Don't get me wrong, I am all in favor of small government, but I am very opposed to lawlessness.

There are two opposing ideological frameworks, and while this can apply to political issues, this framework exists beyond that. Both cry freedom. Both will relentlessly fight to maintain it.

But, what is freedom? Here is where the frameworks are diametrically opposed. One framework fights for freedom from sin, while the other fights for freedom to sin.

Why would anyone fight to sin? Well, they don't see it for what it is, steps toward destruction, both now and hereafter.

What you believe will change what you desire, physically and spiritually. For example, I used to love eating Chick-fil-A sauce. Then, my family and I watched a documentary about food dyes, and I downloaded the Yuka app on my phone, revealing the additives. Knowing the sauce has additives in it has altered my appetite. Why? I have no desire for poison, however good it tastes! But, if you don't share in that belief, your desires will remain unchanged.

The Bible gives us opportunity to see the world and ourselves through the lens of reality. What we see, hear, taste, and touch are only the surface of what is real. There is a deeper reality that we can understand by learning God's word and pondering Hid precepts. His law is not an enemy to us, but a guide and a help!

Although my Bible is quite worn, it is my most valued book. In it are insights into unimaginable mysteries, help with unforeseen problems, and wisdom for everyday life. Allow God to open your eyes to see the world for what it is, to see yourself for who you are, and to see Him for who He is, for He truly makes all things good.
